George Clooney has been creatively involved in the film industry, not only as an actor but also as director and producer for numerous movies such as the Oscar-nominated film The Ides of March, Good Night, and Good Luck and Argo which won an Academy Award for Best Picture. But behind the camera, Clooney, alongside his wife Amal, has also actively partaken in various missions, campaigns and foundations throughout the years.

George Clooney co-founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice in 2016 as a way to promote human rights in courtrooms, classrooms and communities across the globe. Its TrialWatch program provides a legal expert to serve as the eyes that ensure fairness during a trial. Apart from this, the foundation even shows support in case any human rights are violated.

Clooney said in a statement, "There are no two sides to bigotry and hate," and further explained that they wholeheartedly support the centre's efforts to combat hate.

The humanitarian mission is supported by many Hollywood celebrities as well. Years after it was founded, the organisation merged with The Sentry in 2019. However, their programmes and operations remain the same.

While George Clooney was named UN Messenger of Peace in 2008, the actor addressed the war in Darfur after his visit to the region. During his riveting speech, Clooney said, "Either give [the UNAMID peacekeepers] the basic tools for protecting the population and themselves or have the decency to just bring them all home". Knowing his influence, Clooney brought the problem front and centre to call for help.
