Marilu Batchelor, the stylish handbag designer and MAISON LOURDES creative director, shares a thing or two on how she stays effortlessly chic at all times

She is a well-travelled lady, doting wife and mum who never fails to put together chic ensembles each time she steps out. Having grown up in Australia, she has a very relaxed approach to fashion. She appreciates feminine details and loves a fresh take on traditional silhouettes. When asked about her stylish ways, she mentions her grandmother as her fashion icon and influence. She considers local fashion designer Rajo Laurel as her favourite, noting that she was one of the first brides the designer had dressed. Australian labels Zimmerman, Aje, and Alice McCall are some of the brands she loves to wear.

Never dress top to toe in one trend; don't be afraid to mix it up and choose pieces that show your personality best

"This brown leather
Gucci belt is a staple
in my wardrobe.
It dresses up the
simplest of looks."
"I love these vintage
Cartier sunglasses because
they are so unique and chic. They
give my outfits a cool retro feel."
" I am a high
heels girl! You will
rarely see me in
flats, so the best
thing about these
YSL pumps is
that they're 5-1/2
inches high!"
"This Louis Vuitton Neverfull
is so practical and light. It
fits absolutely everything
and still looks elegant
and fashionable."
"I will always
treasure this
antique gold,
diamond, and
jade bracelet that
belonged to my
grandmother."
"I wear this Hermès
enamel bangle everyday.
I especially love the
pattern and colours."
"This is my favourite knitted throw from Lulu Tan Gan. I
love the floral designs that make it feel very Spanish. It
gives drama to my simple outfits and is so versatile."
