Yoga practitioner, and entrepreneur Monique Borja-Gonzalez, shares her take on fashion and how she injects a bit of playfulness in her everyday ensembles

Monique Borja-Gonzalez leads a busy life. The previous owner of one of the first yoga studios in Manila, now runs a small but thriving line of wellness products called Yoga Love. She is passionate about her practice of yoga, regularly participating in workshops, conferences, and retreats both in the Philippines and abroad. She applies a centred and well-balanced philosophy to different aspects of her life including the way she dresses. As seen in her no-fuss approach when it comes to fashion, she selects pieces that reflect her current mood. She favours classic pieces like a floral ruffled top and adds a fun twist by pairing it with something unexpected like deconstructed pants with loose threads at the hem. Alexa Chung, Lucy Torres-Gomez, and Victoria Beckham are her style icons for the way they are able to balance feminine and masculine details in an ensemble. Her go-to brands include Joseph for staples, and Chloe for chic outfits. She loves the work of local fashion designers Rosanna Ocampo and Charina Sarte.

Try new colours and prints, mix it up! Be bold and have fun while you're at it

"Pat McGrath is a legendary make up artist; her MatteTrance line is amazing. Currently obsessed with the colours Omni and Christy."
"I haven't changed perfumes since I got Tom Ford Vanille. It's simple and yet has a bold scent."
"I feel very feminine wearing these N21 heels."
"I have used this Mihara Yasuhiro suit, together and separately, in many different ways."
"YogaLove Healing Cream has been my little passion project for the last eight years. It's a non-greasy cooling cream for fitness
and relaxation."
"I've always been into fitness. It's part of my daily routine, so I'm always using some gadget. I was so happy when FitBit came out with a gold bangle."
