Buckingham Palace Reacts To Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Interview
Unless you've somehow avoided the news this week, you'll be all too aware of the media frenzy surrounding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry since their interview with Oprah on Monday morning.
In the interview, Meghan Markle spoke candidly about her time with the Royals, talking of her struggles with mental health, even stating that members of the family had raised concerns over the colour of her son Archie's skin while she was pregnant.
Whichever side of the debate you're on, the world has been waiting with bated breath to see how the Palace will respond. On Tuesday evening, Buckingham Palace released a short statement––only 61-words in length, to be precise––which stated "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan."
Continuing, the statement reads "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately." Concluding with, "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
While calls have been made globally for an official investigation into who made the racially-fuelled comments, it seems that at this stage, the Palace want to keep things private.
The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
The next question on everyone's lips is whether the Prince will still be heading to the UK next month for his scheduled trip. In February, it was reported that Prince Harry had been isolating in preparation for his solo visit, but since the interview aired, many are wondering whether it will be going ahead.
In the interview, Harry stated that he felt let-down by his father, Prince Charles, along with mentioning that his father and brother were both "trapped" within the system like he had been. There has been no official word yet from either party.
