Lady Gaga and Adam Driver Start In New Gucci Biographical Film
Lady Gaga shares the first look at the House of Gucci, the upcoming biographical crime film by Ridley Scott, based on the novel of the same name. It follows a dramatised version of real-life events that led to the assassination of Maurizio Gucci, former head of the fashion house and grandson of Gucci's founder, Guccio Gucci.
The award-winning actress and singer revealed the photo on her Instagram from the set of the film with the caption, "Signore e Signora Gucci" which translates to "Mr and Mrs Gucci". Lady Gaga will be playing Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci who will be played by Adam Driver.
The two are dressed in a 1980s-themed ski outfit, Gag is an all-black outfit, gold chains and white Cossack hat while Driver is wearing a cable knit turtleneck sweater and white jacket wrapped around his waist.
It was announced in November 2019 that Gaga who has Italian ancestry will be helming Reggiani's role for the movie. Reggiani was prosecuted for orchestrating Maurizio Gucci's murder in 1995, serving 18 years in prison. She gained the nickname, Black Widow prior to her release in 2016.
House of Gucci is Gaga's film since her Oscar-nominated performance in her debut movie, A Star Is Born. Gaga's co-star, Driver, also received Oscar nominations for Marriage Story and BlacKkKlansman. The cast also includes Al Pacino, Jared Leto and Jeremy Irons. The film is slated for release on November 24, 2021.
