Louis Vuitton’s Tambour Street Diver Takes On A Sporty Look
Since its initial release in 2002, the Tambour Watch has cultivated a reputation as a luxury timepiece with a difference. It has seen several incarnations over the years, each arising from a unique source of inspiration, from the ornate Tambour Horizon to the technically innovative Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Poinçon de Genève, released last year.
This year, the iconic watch has been reimagined yet again. The Tambour Street Diver is a luxury timepiece designed to suit an active lifestyle, perfect for those in search of a timepiece that stands out in both the gym and the boardroom. Like its predecessors, the Tambour Street Diver is crafted from a single block of metal, its shape inspired by a drum.
Placing equal emphasis on form, as well as function, the Tambour Street Diver is water-resistant up to 100 metres and its dial and inner-rotating bezel are coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova. Available in three 44mm automatic models as well as a quartz version in 39.5mm, the watch has been designed to suit all sizes. The durable and scratch-resistant stainless-steel case is kept airtight through screw-down crowns.
The hours are marked on the exterior of the clock face using letters to spell L-O-U-I-S-V-U-I-T-T-O-N, while the maison’s signature LV monogram adorns one crown while a scuba diver adorns the other. A letter V on at the 12 o’clock position aligns with the minute hand to mark the start of your dive time, while the 15-minute time frame is colour-blocked, making it easy to keep track of time spent underwater.
The Tambour Street Diver is available in four distinct colourways—Skyline Blue, Neon Black, Black Blaze and Pacific White. The strap’s quick-changing mechanism helps the fashion-forward transform their look from day to night with ease.
To celebrate the brand’s latest timepiece, Louis Vuitton unveiled a campaign with Tahar Rahim, Sophie Turner and Minho Lee. Shot by acclaimed Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti—whose works feature in permanent collections at the Victoria & Albert and National Portrait Gallery in London—the campaign’s aquatic aesthetic dives deep into luxury urban lifestyles.
With a sleek, luxury finish, the Tambour Street Diver takes the series to new depths, housing a range of state-of-the-art functionalities. Much like its predecessors, it enhances not only the everyday experiences, but the extraordinary ones, too.
