Tatler Weddings: Yvonne Yao And Dennis Lee Tie The Knot
Organising their wedding amid a pandemic gave Yvonne Yao and Dennis Lee invaluable lessons. Time management and effective communication are two that Yvonne cites; but the most important was, she says, “We also got to know each other better.” She adds, “[The exercise revealed] certain characteristics and how each of us copes individually and together under stressful situations. I couldn’t imagine navigating through the wedding planning without my husband’s unconditional support, presence and influence. Without all my family's unwavering support and unconditional love, I wouldn't have been able to survive planning the entire wedding and even pushing through during a pandemic. Our supportive family members were very much hands-on all throughout our preparations, until the very last minute!"

The couple were married in an intimate ceremony at St James the Great, Alabang. They celebrated in a small reception catered by Cibo in the groom’s office building. The bride wore a classic gown made extra meaningful as it was handsewn by her dear friend, Hannah Kong. The dress featured two types of French lace from Paris, from the same lace maker that created Kate Middleton’s dress. The celebration’s overall motif was elegant spring, with touches of peach and green hues, highlighting the optimistic and bright mood of the momentous day.
Looking back at that milestone, Yvonne says, “It has also reminded us to appreciate and be grateful for the simple things in life: family and friends, good health, food on the table and a roof above our heads.”
