WWF Philippines To Launch Sustainable Home Cooking Series Online
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines is set to launch a new online cooking series that will focus on sustainable cooking. Using hearty, healthy, and delicious local ingredients, top chefs will share their recipes to you via WWF PH's Kawali-Kasan series set to launch on 16 August 2020. The series will run for two months until the end of October 2020 and will feature chefs from a variety of backgrounds and specialties.
Among the first roster of chefs to guest-star is Chef Kate Anzani, owner and restauranteur at Anzani Restaurant Group. Chef Kate will be sharing plant-based recipes with the audience that will not only help save the earth but will be great for your health too. "The core of restaurants and the very foundation of a restaurant is fresh ingredients and produce,” she says. “Supporting local is the most visible solution moving forward. And you live by example."

Alongside Chef Kate, MasterChef Pinoy edition winner, Chef JR Royol, will also be sharing his take on a few plant-based foods. Chef JR has been known to incorporate many local ingredients to his dishes – some of which you can check out online. He's able to balance a healthy diet by creating balanced recipes with plenty of yummy greens that are perfect for your family.
"Realistically speaking, we should start (living sustainably) in our homes and workplace since these are the areas that we can change in real-time by consciously adapting to environment-friendly best practices,” he says. “We should act now! We can and we have the courage to summon the necessary strength to positively impact our surroundings. It doesn’t have to be grand gestures—just consistent, conscious practices for conservation and preservation to be established.”
