Soon To Rise: Aurelia Residences Set To Change Our Idea of Elegance
Luxe living is defined not only by what is best for the eye but also by each element’s harmony and functionality that speaks true to the lifestyle of the resident.
“Elegance is a lot of things that are authentic to the person, about their culture, and the way culture is expressed,” interior designer Francesca Muzio said. Allowing residents to project their individuality and taste on the suites is an exercise on elegance. The suites need not make a statement at the risk of seeming pretentious. Comfort must also be foremost. “Effortless elegance is something we really want to achieve—harmony of function and comfort, a new form of experience, a new way of living,” she continued.
Architect Brian Lee meanwhile favours sustainable, well-crafted design down to the details. “Refinement without ostentation, flexibility and functionality, usefulness and innovation, boldness in simplicity—these are what make things in the world elegant, timeless, and thoughtful,” he said.
More than the impeccable craftsmanship and design elements inspired by Philippine and Italian cultures, Aurelia Residences—Francesca and Brian’s collaboration project—evokes understated luxury through its timeless and world-class architecture that melds form and function.
Aurelia Residences is slated to line the horizons of McKinley Parkway corner 5th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City, a prime address. It is a 17-billion peso joint venture between Shang Properties, Inc. and Robinsons Land Corporation. As a first major ultra-luxury project for both developers, this three-tower exclusive residential development will span over 9,000 sqm. An atmosphere of warmth and welcome will also consign plush living through stylish suites and thoroughly-appointed amenities. Although suites and rooms will be carefully designed and furnished, future owners will not find it difficult to infuse personal objets d’art from their adventures across the globe.
At the helm of the project are world-renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings, & Merill LLP (SOM), led by Brian, and elite design company FM Architettura d’Interni, founded by Francesca.
The rising luxury residential property will also cut through open expanses and be surrounded by commanding skyline views. Resort-style amenities and convenient access to the city’s key spots will be the running character.
Varying in height and with their centres interlinked, the three towers are designed to mimic a flower. The Residences’ 280 bespoke homes will open into unobstructed panoramic views of the metropolis through floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious balconies. These elements are informed by sprezzatura, a modern Italian concept that parlays a certain nonchalance in art. Through the maximisation of gratuitous space, light, and view, elegance in Aurelia Residences will be as effortless as Italian style would have it.
The suites range from 220 sqm to 430 sqm in floor area and will be fitted with either two or three bedrooms, an entertainment room, kitchen, spacious his and her wardrobes in each room, and an open-layout living room extending all the way to the balcony. The latter could be designed as a patio and dining area.
Energy conservation was easy to implement in its design. Natural light will be the gift of open spaces and generous windows. Natural air will be the work of secured and risk-free ventilation windows on the side walls.
The resort-style ambience is the site’s lifestyle ticket. Guests may host private events in the Residences’ thoughtful function rooms and lounges that could be extended to the outdoor area by the pool.
“We designed the function room in a very Filipino way, as we know that when families and friends have a party they want to do as much as they can and thus, the need for space,” Francesca explained.
Other exclusive amenities include a home cinema, indoor, and outdoor playgrounds, and a well-equipped gym facility.
Aurelia Residences derives its name from aureus, which is the Latin root word for gold; and aura, a distinctive atmosphere or quality that surrounds a person, thing, or place. The intricate design of Aurelia Residences forgoes the ornamental and the excessive, but its inherent sprezzatura lasts through an overall enveloping feel of home and relaxation.“I want to describe Aurelia Residences with five keywords: authenticity, comfort, quality, detail, and cultured,” said Francesca. Truly, the elegance of the homes in Aurelia Residences lies in the truthful reflection of their residents—their candidness with their own comfort and cosiness, with the durability of their surroundings, their individuality, and personal homage to their home cultures. These are the things that matter, and that last.
